Denmark’s flag is called the DANNBROG which means the ‘spirit of Denmark’. It is thought to be the oldest national flag in continuous use.

I learnt that in Denmark the weather is windy and it rains or snows every second day.
The things you would need to bring with you are an umbrella, wellies and a rainproof coat.

Interesting facts that I found out about Denmark. Denmark is the smallest of the Scandinavian countries. It is located south of Norway and southwest of Sweden and is bordered with South by Germany. The national symbol of Denmark is a statue of Andersen’s Little Mermaid which can be seen in Copenhagen. The Swan is the national bird of Denmark.

I found that Lego was made for a boy who couldn’t play with Meccano because he was too young. His father made the Lego for him. His father was Danish.

The capital city of Denmark is Copenhagen, located on the island of Zealand. Denmark has a population of just over 5.5 million people.
Denmark has a lot of historical places and gardens and the world-famous Tivoli amusement park in downtown Copenhagen, it is the most visited of all Nordic cities.
LEGO was invented in Denmark. Legoland and the company headquarters are located in Billund, on the Jutland peninsula.

I know that William Shakespeare wrote Hamlet and his setting is Denmark in thirteenth century and the knowledge is from my book collection (authors Tony Ross and Andrew Matthews) the Shakespeare stories with sixteen book in it:
Hamlet which we are learning about in year three.
